“My work is centered on personal narratives that have influenced my interest in crime and art history as it relates our current contemporary discourse. Using a range of source material drawing from 19th century etchings to abstract expressionism, I seek to explore the relationship between power and the body. Through gestural abstraction, my work appears as psychologically charged narratives that reveal themselves slowly and deal with themes of sublimation and human nature.”

“Throughout my education, I have been fortunate to have experienced the benefit of personalized treatment in supportive art education settings. As an art educator, my goal is to create a supportive learning environment that utilizes individualized teaching methods, providing students with as much one-on-one attention as possible. In the classroom, I encourage open dialogue among students and their peers, allowing students to develop a sense of confidence in their creative abilities, while gaining skills in effective communication. Trusting oneself is half the battle.”
